Eliminating Transfer Points / Bulk Material HandlingEliminating Transfer Points when handling large quantities of bulk material is important when focusing on clean and low-noise operations while also significantly reducing operational costs (transfer point is maintenance point), not to mention reduced investment costs (mechanical, electrical!).Belt Conveyors are capable of doing horizontal curves, and not only the pipe conveyor can do so, but also normal troughed belt conveyors, as can be seen in the example below.Pipe Conveyor: + tightest horizontal curves, best environmental protection- lump size limitationsideal application: really complex routingTroughed Belt Conveyor: + low power consumption, no lump size limitation- not so tight horizontal curvesideal application: long distance conveying with horizontal curvesU-Shape Conveyor (the solution in between): 0 fairly tight curves, can deal with higher lump sizesideal application: tight curves and high capacitiesYes, I know - this is somewhat incomplete and it always depends. But happy to have a discussion about it. Sometimes the best solution is where one doesn't expect it ;)Talk to me: https://lnkd.in/dZHpjEBH

interesting, never know we can do belt conv arragement with that horizontal curve without being missalign, may i know the minimum radius we can do?

Not all bulk material handling can be automated - and not all bulk material handling that can be automated will be automated - a too long ROI period, loss of flexibility, local structures, etc.We at BEUMER Group are here to help - from conveyors to complete systems (storage, ship/train/truck loading & unloading) we cover the complete scope. We support with planning, we engineer and provide the equipment (stacker, reclaimer, ship loader, ...; belt conveyors, overland conveyors, pipe conveyors), we also provide the digital solutions for our equipment. And if it becomes complex, we might even fly in our equipment (well, in that case it was a complex conveyor route that was best installed by using a helicopter...)

Conveying Cement at 1000tph over >4km with complex routing from the plant to the jetty? We are building a Pipe Conveyor right now to do this...By the way - it is not often that one can see one's installation progress on google maps (that is where I took this photo from 😉).Also: can you see the conveyor below our pipe conveyor (blue arrow)? This is a curved troughed belt conveyor built by us at BEUMER Group already some time ago. It imports the coal for the cement plant, while the pipe conveyor is for exporting the cement.

💥 Dust free dry bulk material handling via belt conveyor --> pipe conveyor (tubular belt conveyor). Our next 4km conveyor handling cement products is just getting ready for pulling the belt!> get rid of truck operation (yes, you need certain quantities per year so that it makes sense> get rid of transfer points (pipe conveyors are belt conveyors that can negotiate quite tight horizontal curves)

From Erik Hupjé: "How do you improve reliability with your tight budget? The answer is actually pretty simple: It’s NOT investing in new technology. It’s NOT hiring expensive consultants. It’s NOT conducting RCM studies. It’s training your team!"I do agree - and it is common practice how we do it with our pipe conveyors - the more trained the people are who actually run our pipe conveyors, the better. Should you have a pipe conveyor and need some training do reach out to us! Simply schedule an appointment and let us know about your installation and your needs and we will support! https://lnkd.in/dZHpjEBHTo read more from Erik Hupjés thoughts on the matter go here: https://lnkd.in/drstDYGt

"By adopting a proactive approach to maintenance, unforeseen stoppages are minimized, along with the accompanying disruptions and lost production time." (Mark Baller, CEO of Weba Chutes) - I could not agree more. But then again, there are apparently constraints to put this into practice, at least that is how I experience it when I think about how I see bulk material handling equipment being used.So here is my question: Handling bulk material: Why is it like this:1. It immediately makes sense to have a proactive approach to maintenance (at least when looking at both the OPEX savings as well as the risk)2. Few plants are actually doing it (at least in a way we as equipment provider would think it should be done).Any thoughts on this? Looking forward to a good discussion!https://lnkd.in/dHZt2e5c

New Bulk Material to be conveyed through an existing plant? A pipe conveyor might be a solution, with its possibility for flexible routing it can solve the problem of even finding a route while on the side avoiding transfer towers....By the way, this pipe conveyor is part of an alternative fuels handling system, which is designed and provided by my colleagues from BEUMER Group in the Czech Republic. If you want to see more about this particular project, you can watch a whole video here: https://lnkd.in/dFYUHwhR?v=oHprqPLzZi4

One of the things I really like doing is eating fruits that grow along the path that I need to take to the office (or at a walk during lunch break). Currently the blackberries are starting to get ripe - and some wild plums are available for more than a month already! If you ever come to our office and have the time to spare I will show you around ;)
